This upgrade is applicable to Cessna 172P, 172Q and model 172RG models that are not equipped with 3-point diagonal rear shoulder harnesses.

The above referenced aircraft were factory equipped to allow the installation of 3-point rear shoulder restraints by the installation of nut plates mounted aft and outboard of each rear seat at fuselage stations +108.0. An STC is not required, but a log book entry and sign-off by an appropriately rated mechanic is.
